Do you ever blame your situation on someone else? Do you sometimes think to yourself if “this” wasn’t a part of my life I could “have more time for that”?

My daughter Pixie just left on a week long vacation with her Grandma and Grandpa. As we were packing and getting her ready to go I started making myself a list of all the things I want to accomplish this week while she’s gone.

A few of my to-do’s:

Go to the YMCA – 3 times this week

Finish dog painting

Start on Feather painting (I’m so excited about this… can’t wait to show y’all)

Organize the kitchen

Organize art studio / art office

Organize my art classroom for the new year

All of these things are items that I can easily do when Pixie is here. Somehow I managed to trick my mind and tell myself that these big items can only be done when I have no other distractions. Because my mindset was this way I have put off these big items and dreaded them all summer!

If I would just take responsibility and just do it… I would have had all this energy to put towards something new earlier in the summer!

The reason I say this to you is because you are in control of your life! There is no time like the present to start creating the life you want!

I am an artist and I love to paint. I don’t want to look back on my life and wish I would have been an artist or wish I would have been motivated to do the things I love.

I’m reading a book right now and it talks about how much can happen in just a short time. How our mindset can really affect your attitude which affects your life. Look at your life. Are you living it the way you want to live it in one year, five years or even ten years?

Your actions today is what determines your future. Even if they are small. Think about what you want and then GO GET IT! Make it happen! Don’t blame others or use them as an excuse that you were too busy to accomplish your goals or creative endeavors. I’m sure if we all look closely at our schedule we can shift a few things around to find a few hours to create or read or whatever we love to do. (My weakness is trash shows like The Bachorlette! I’m sure I would survive if I missed an episode, but wait… isn’t that what the recording button is for! Haha)

As I write this I realize that even if my to-do list isn’t complete by the time my little girl comes home, I will still get to it… still accomplish it…. and have some freed up energy to add some more fun creative stuff to my new list!

Just do it! Be creative!  Do what you love!

Stop waiting to become the person you are meant to be.

The world needs you!
