Today I’m going to paint this fun and easy abstract Fall Flowers painting! This was a very relaxed painting because I had met my dad at the Casino the night before. It was such good times!!
Now back to the painting, I actually painted this over an old canvas. Now, I didn’t just paint we also talked about some cool Paint Party Business stuff too!
Get your supplies ready
For this abstract fall flowers painting. You will need a chip brush or 2, a flat brush, round brush, a canvas and some paint. I love DecoArt Americana Craft Acrylic paint in the following colors: Black, White, Deep Ochre, Burnt Umber and Spiced Pumpkin. Spiced Pumpkin is my new favorite color for Fall paintings!!
Paint Your Background First
Let’s paint the background first. Now I kind of halved the back ground between a light and dark gray. Start with the darker gray and use a chip brush to get it on the canvas a little quicker. This gray is a mix between black and white. Then move on to the lighter gray by just mixing a little bit more white with your already created gray!
Paint the Pumpkin
I used white to start out the pumpkin. Using a 1-inch flat brush with some white paint you’ll get the pumpkin started. Just paint a circle with no top, you can paint top down in almost a half moon shape as well. Then added some of the Deep Ochre and some gray to add dimension to your pumpkin.
Paint the Abstract Fall Flowers and Foliage
I started with the big orange flower. Using an orange paint a circle first and then outlined the petals. Repaint the circle or center of the flower using brown. Then I’ll add all the fun filler! Using the deep ochre and a little bit of white just start adding some lines for the foliage and then add the leaves. Next up is brown, I used Burnt Umber, again, just throw some lines in and then add the leaves using a round brush. It’s so easy you basically just blot with the round brush! You’ll do the same with the white paint. Remember use the flat brush for the lines and the round brush for the brown and white leaves. Remember these abstract fall flowers and foliage, so they don’t have to be perfect!
Add Some Details
Using the brown (Burnt Umber) you can add some details to the pumpkin and some orange for a shadow under the pumpkin. After that it’s up to you! Add some details to your foliage and to your orange flower!
This painting is great to paint on your own or even for paint parties! It’s a super easy painting. Some of our Paint Party Headquarters are already using it to book paint parties!!!
