3 Tips for Building a Creative Online Business
I’m really excited about sharing these tips with y’all. I love helpful information that I can start working on NOW, so I wanted to pass along 3 actionable tips that will practically guarantee business success.
“Start before you are ready. Don’t prepare, BEGIN!” – Mel Robbins. This is one of my all-time favorite quotes! Don’t wait on these…start implementing. 😉
1. Come Up with a Free Gift
Why? This will allow you to collect emails or phone numbers to text so you can contact potential customers.
Take a moment to make two columns on a piece of paper. In the first, write down things that you are good at. To give a free gift, we want to make sure it’s something we’re great at and can put together easily. Just pretend like no one is watching and brag on yourself for 30 seconds!
Then, in the column next to it, write down “what do people need help with?”. Then, start answering it! Your answers could range from babysitting to learning technology. Just write it down!
Now is the fun part. Come up with something you can give away using the skills in column A, helping people solve their problem in column B.

2. Create a Viral-Worthy Facebook Live
Yes, even if you are terrified to be on camera…you can do this! You have the opportunity to reach hundreds of thousands of people through this platform for free!
The good news is people love simple. In fact, one of my most viral Facebook Lives reached 800,000 people and it was not my best, most complicated painting. It was a painting of flowers in a vase – but people loved how simple it was!
It’s important to keep in mind that when you do a Live, you aren’t doing it just to hear yourself talk. The entire point is to help others (remember that column titled “what do people need help with”?).

3. Overcome Imposter Syndrome
Do you ever feel like you aren’t the best artist in the world? Um…me too! I also don’t have an art degree, so I could theoretically argue I don’t have the credentials to teach others how to paint. But guess what? I’m here anyway!
The fact is, there will always be someone more talented or more credentialed than you are. And once we get comfortable with this, we can move on and stop beating ourselves up.
So, how do you finally beat imposter syndrome once and for all??? You show up!!!
When you take action through fear, you’ll gain confidence. Will it feel awkward? Well sure! But as you practice, you build your confidence, and things feel more comfortable. The more you try, the better you will get.
