So many of you have downloaded the free gnome. They are so cute, aren’t they? Now I’m going to show you how you can use the free gnome for a practice paint party! I’m going to show you how to use this from start to finish.
What do I mean by practice paint party? This is not a paint party you charge for. You just grab some friends and family members and teach them how to paint an adorable gnome. So, if you are nervous about doing a paint party I’m here to take the pressure off, let’s all collectively take a deep breath. I’m going to give you everything you need!
Gather your supplies
I’m using the Artist Loft 4 x 12 canvases from Michaels and the best part? They come in packs of 3! You’ll also need your printed gnome tracer, some tracing paper and a pencil. Don’t have a gnome tracer yet? You can grab that HERE! Please note, the gnome tracer may not be the one I’m painting today, the FREE gnome tracer is seasonal. Don’t forget your paint and paint brushes too.
Prep Your Canvases
You are going to want to prep your canvases first by tracing the design. All you need to do is place your tracing paper on the canvas, graphite side down and then place your tracer on top of that. Grab a pencil and trace the design. That’s it, it’s sooo easy!!!
Prepping your canvas will take the pressure off during the practice paint party. The canvases will be ready to paint for your family and friends.
Start Painting and Have Fun
First things first, I’m going to paint the background. Now I was inspired by one my Paint Party Headquarters Members who took the gnomes and just kind of went rogue! And so I’m going to go a bit rogue myself and add some birch trees to the background. Then you’ll just paint the rest of the painting.
Here’s the cool thing, your paint party guests can go rogue too! You want them to have fun and be creative. They can either follow along or do whatever they want.
Take the Pressure Off Your Practice Paint Party
Grab the FREE Tracer HERE. Go pick up a 3 pack of canvases and invite two people over to your practice paint party. Take action! Don’t be afraid to take the first step and if you are scared? Take action through fear. You will realize that it wasn’t all that scary. Also, don’t worry about things that haven’t happened yet.
If I hadn’t taken action through fear all those years ago and started my hand painted surfboard business I wouldn’t be here today talking and teaching all of you!
