Someone asked me four simple words almost two years ago and I haven’t stopped thinking about them since.

Someone asked me this question almost two years ago, and I think about it every single day.

What do you want?

Four words. Simple. But also exciting, terrifying, and intoxicating all at the same time.

Here’s what I’ve learned: when you start putting your everyday experiences through that lens (what do I actually want?) everything shifts. You stop going through the motions and start building a life that actually fits you.

Let me give you a silly example.

I went to the movies with Bobby the other day. Ordered nachos with extra jalapeños. Sat in the dark trying to nail the nacho-to-cheese ratio without being able to see a thing. Within ten minutes, I had to pee. The movie was WAY too long, so I ended up taking two bathroom breaks.

And as I sat there squinting at my nachos, I made a firm decision: I don’t love going to the movies.

I love Bobby. But I also love sitting in our basement, something we NEVER had in Texas, watching movies wrapped in my heating blanket, bathroom steps away, with snacks I can actually see.

That might sound ridiculous to some people. But now I know. And because I know, my life gets to look different. I get to fill it with experiences I actually enjoy.

Will I still go to the movies with Bobby or Pixie sometimes? Of course. But it’s no longer something I do on autopilot just because “that’s what people do.”

Now here’s where it gets deeper.

Where are the parts of YOUR life where you’re not asking that question?

What do you actually want your days to look like?

Do you want to wake up and create? Paint? Design art kits? Teach others? Build something that’s YOURS?

Or do you want to keep doing what you’ve always done because it’s… fine?

Here’s the thing about “fine.” Fine is comfortable. Fine doesn’t rock the boat. But fine also doesn’t light you up. And you weren’t put here to live a “fine” life.

Fine isn’t the goal. Fulfillment is.

So ask yourself: What do I want my life to look like on a random Tuesday?

Then ask the follow-up: How do I start making that happen?

Because here’s the truth, you can. Maybe not overnight. But you absolutely can.

Start small. One paint party. One art kit. One single step toward the creative life you’ve been daydreaming about.

Stop settling for fine. You deserve so much more than that.

So I’ll ask you the same question that changed everything for me:

What do YOU want? 💕
