Today I’m speaking with Dana of Imagine Nation Paint. Dana is a Paint Party Headquarters member and successful Paint Party Business owner. We are going to talk all about how paint parties have changed her life and how failure became part of her success.
Booking Parties After Extended Time Off
Dana took some time off of teaching in person paint parties when she gave birth to her second son about a year ago. She finally decided it was time to get back in the game. Using the Magic Script she sent a few messages to some local restaurants just get her feet wet. That was back in June. It didn’t take long for Dana to book a party. Everyone had so much fun that they are doing it every month! This led to another restaurant booking and now she has a paint party booked each month until the end of the year at 2 different restaurants!!
The best part? Because of these bookings she’s also booked 15 paid private parties from now through December!!
What If You Fail?
Dana can’t even count how many times she failed. It has taken a long time to get to the place she is now. But, she says that’s just part of the journey. Dana said “If failure isn’t part of your story, then you aren’t doing something right. When God calls us to do something and we are working towards that purpose; If we don’t experience failure, then there’s no way that we are going to be ready to handle our purpose when he gets us into it.”
I love that sooo much! Can anyone relate to that? I know I can. Failure is part of success. I remember when I was a full-time teacher and teaching paint parties full-time, I was standing in the kitchen with Bobby and just crying. I told Bobby that I felt like God was getting me prepared for something like this but it was terrifying the crap out of me. I’ve had that feeling 3 times in my life and I know that it is part of God’s plan to toughen us up and get us ready for his purpose.
Failure Is Part of Success
Dana is just taking the next steps that God wants her to take and coming from a place of positivity. I LOVE that she talks about failure being a huge part of success. Yes, it stings, yes it can hurt but you get used to it. You fail fast and recover fast! There was a time where a failure would put me down for a few weeks but now I’m like, Oh that hurt, let me shake it off and keep going.
Learning From Failure
Dana goes on to say that when you are going through something and you feel like you’re failing at it that you are forgetting to look at as though God is trying to teach you in that moment. She truly feels that God put her different positions for a reason prior to becoming a paint party business owner. She added that God is teaching you a skill or maybe improve something in your character, any number of things and then you will keep moving.
Don’t Compare Your Journey to Others
You know, when you feel like everything is just not working for you and you start scrolling social media? Then you start comparing your journey to everyone else’s journey? Don’t do that! You can’t compare your Chapter 1 to their Chapter 50.
