How many of you are working on your business with little ones at home?

Pixie is now 13, but when I had my VERY first real business painting decorative Surfboards in Florida, this is what our life looked like! We thankfully had help from grandparents, but there were also MANY hours that were filled with a little mini me painting along beside me.

Was it easy? NO! It was VERY hard, but did we have some fun times? YES! I wouldn’t trade them for anything!

So, if you are home trying to work with little ones around, try to get them involved if you can. Or, when you really have to get stuff done have a mandatory time (depending on the child’s age of course) when they stay in their room, watch a movie or something to help you not go crazy!

Running a business is not for the weak. And in these times it has put a whole new perspective on running a business from home. However, nothing great comes from being comfortable. These are the cards we’ve been dealt. How can we do our best to still keep our business moving forward and giving our kids that extra time they need/want.

I wish I could say I have it figured out. I don’t. Pixie made our dinner last night because she was craving something home cooked. (I don’t cook) I said, “Well make something!” So she cooked instant mash potatoes, can of corn, and some mac and cheese. It was tasty!

I could look at myself and give myself grief for not making her a “home cooked” meal OR I could look at it as I’m preparing her for college and she’s gonna have to figure out how to feed herself!

I choose the second one, give myself grace, and know I’m trying to do the best I can. Give yourself grace as you try to navigate little ones at home while also running your business
